Altona Boat Ramp and Safe Boat Harbour is quite possibly the finest large boating facility in Victoria. Three twin lane ramps with floating pontoons are completely protected by a breakwall which forms a safe harbour. This is much improved on the previous ramps which were heavily exposed to the south and east and shallow with sand bars.

Parking is available for 72 vehicles with trailers. There are public toilets and a shaded fish cleaning area. The safe boat harbour has the capacity to shelter 70 to 100 boats depending upon size.

There is a bridge over a canal linking the Harbour to the Altona Sports Club.
