Altona City Theatre (ACT), located at 115 Civic Parade, Altona, is an amateur theatre group that produces live musical theatre productions in Melbourne western suburbs.

The group was formed in 1972, staging their maiden production of HMS Pinafore in a local high school assembly hall until the then Altona City Council completed construction of the Altona Theatre in 1988.

ACT’s performance season generally includes a children’s pantomime in March to coincide with the Altona Bayside Festival, two major theatrical productions in July and October and a theatrical production by its youth division, ACTion, in October.

Established in 1995, ACT runs a very successful and low-cost junior theatre program known as ACTion Youth Theatre, which has been involving and educating children in the performing arts from the local area and beyond for over 15 years.
