A video slideshow created in 2010, celebrating the attractions of Altona. The background music is Concerto No. 1 in E major, Op. 8, RV 269, “La primavera” (Spring) 1. Allegro by Antonio Vivaldi.
I think you have done an amazing job, not just in this video but in your blog. Your blog is very interesting and well maintained and shows off Altona to its best advantage. Congratulations! I love that you love your suburb so much.
Thanks Anthony. I am a Graduate Editing and Communications student at Melbourne Uni (you work there?), and one of my subjects requires that we write a weekly blog on subject matter related to the course. My subject this week was you as a citizen journalist! I also live in Williamstown and understand how maligned the west is! Regards, Rachel
Yes, I am working at the University of Melbourne, at Alan Gilbert Building. Williamstown is beautiful! So you will be working in the mass media industry after graduation?
Hi Anthony. I'm working on a major capital health project at the moment (of which the UoM is a partner.) I'm enjoying that and don't see myself moving for a while.
Your blog is getting better and better. I particularly enjoyed your quilt exhibition review. I'd like to subscribe to your blog, but I think I am limited by the email providers …? Commenting is a but cumbersome too. Maybe that is a Blogspot issue?
Hi Rachel, I can see that you can subscribe to the posts and atoms using various options: Google Homepage, Google Reader, Yahoo!, Netvibes and so on. Or you can follow this Blog using Google Friend Connect. Have you tried them? I don't know whether there is something that can notify you via email whenever a new post is made. I'll do some googling to see if this is available. You would not see your comment immediately as it is being moderated.
To add, I had received an anonymous comment asking me to close this Blog as he doesn't want the Blog to attract developments to Altona. Hence, the need to moderate comments to protect the Blog from being destroyed by negativity. A closed, inward-looking attitude will only make Altona stagnant and sterile, with no progress and improvements.
I suspect a number of people who are reading this Blog, like you, do not come from Altona. It is my vision to use my writing abilities and aesthetic skills to extend to other areas in Melbourne and Victoria, such as Williamstown. But I am limited by both time and resources so this vision may remain a dream and I can only make use of my spare time to focus on Altona.

Rachel, thank you very much for your encouragements! I have read your very well-written blog and feel humbled by your recent post:
