I can check the times to watch the sunrise or sunset for a particular day, whether the tide level is suitable for swimming or strolling out to receded part of the seabed, whether I can view a full moon, whether I should carry my umbrella, etc. Kitesurfers can check whether the wind speed is ideal for engaging in their favourite sports.
