This reserve, bounded by Queen St (north), Pier St (east), Esplanade (south) and Sargood St (west), offers spectacular views of the sea, beach and Pier.
It is home to a number of Moreton Bay Fig Trees, with thick, prominent buttress roots and massive trunks having girths beyond your imaginations that would take a considerable number of people, hands holding hands, to encircle each tree.
It is a hotspot for community activities, festive carnivals, open-air concerts and movie nights, family gatherings, picnics, etc.
It is where the Tuesday Altona Beach Market is held and where the Altona Homestead is located.
It has a new children playground, barbeque facilities, picnics tables, toilet and a rotunda (used by bands during the Summer Sounds Concert organized by the Hobsons Bay City Council).
